Notes ==== Guizhi is warm in nature and good for weak exo-yang syndrome. However, you should never apply Guizhi in fever without chill. When the fever and heat is endogenous, application of Guizhi will increase the heat and worsen the fever and alway cause the patient to vomit. In serious cases, where the patient is suffering from ulcer or stomach serious infection, blood and pus may vomit out. Endogeous fever there is no chill, but strong thirst, red tongue and strong pulse, patient is restless and irritable. Exogenous fever the patient is suffering from chill but normally quiet without any sign of restlessness. Guizhi is also not good for endogenous water congestion in stomach, that also induce vomiting after taking Guizhi soup. Endogenous water congestion manifest it self with deep and strong pulse, with thick white or yellow coating on tongue.
